What to expect?
An unforgettable journey through the Serra de Tramuntana to the Valley of Sóller that will allow us to explore hidden landscapes and places, learn about their legends, anecdotes and history, as well as enjoy the flavours of our local gastronomic products.
Whether you come with your own car or with our Vip-Trip service, with our inter-vehicle communication system you won’t miss a single detail of the contents we have carefully prepared. The route offers an interesting perspective of the philosopher Ramón Llull (Mallorca 1232-1316) and Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria (1847-1915), a pioneer of tourism in Mallorca, both illustrious characters who left an intense mark on the island.
For clients with a car, our tour starts at a meeting point near Palma and ends in the centre of Sóller. Hotel pick-ups, for those who do not have their own vehicle, will begin approximately 30 minutes before the tour starts.
It lasts approximately 5 hours and includes 2 snacks of typical Mallorcan products and a delicious Pa amb oli tasting in a centuries-old olive oil mill. The route covers 70 Km. through the northwest of the island of Mallorca, and passes through the Serra de Tramuntana, an area declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Itinerary
The Hermitage
Our first visit comes after a short 10-minute walk to discover a magical place where one breathes peace. A tiny chapel, an exceptional viewpoint ….. Our guide will explain the fascinating history of the place, while we taste a piece of freshly baked ensaimada.
Archduke’s residence – 13th century
Founded by the great thinker and inventor Ramon Llull, it was first a language school, then a monastery and then the summer residence of Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria and his illustrious guests. Discover its interiors and its Byzantine gardens full of stories, secrets and legends. At the end of the visit, there is nothing better than a bite of some traditional Quelitas crackers with cheese.
Centuries-old olive oil mill in the heart of the Sóller Valley
Greeted by one of the owners, we will visit the family business and discover the world of olive oil production and orange cultivation. We end this magnificent tour at the olive oil mill, after a traditional Mallorcan “pa amb oli” tasting. Local rustic bread, tomatoes, olives, cheese, ham and olive oil. For dessert a Gató, an almond cake that is very typical of the island. Wine, water and a delicious freshly squeezed orange juice from Sóller. (during the season)
