The Venice of Gran Canaria

Tripadvisor

What to expect?

The southwest of Gran Canaria has some incredible landscapes to enjoy and photograph. During this visit, we will go to some of the most characteristic and unique points of the island.

We will visit the Natural Reserve Las Dunas de Maspalomas, a unique natural space in the Canary Islands for its beauty and variety of ecosystems. Protected as a special nature reserve, its 400 hectares include an excellent beach, a field of living dunes of organic sand, a palm forest, and a brackish lagoon. This mixture of desert and oasis is located on the southernmost coast of Gran Canaria.

We will visit the small “Venice” of Gran Canaria, Puerto de Mogán. Its old seafaring quarter with its marina and its stores surrounded by narrow streets with endless colourful flowers and canals, add to the charm of the little Venice of Gran Canaria.

The next stop will be divided into two experiences, where you can choose between: Visiting the Mogán Mall Shopping Center or enjoying Amadores beach.

Mogán Mall, located in the area of Puerto Rico in the southeast of the island of Gran Canaria, is one of the most popular tourist destinations, offering a unique shopping experience.

Amadores Beach is located between huge rocks, protected from the wind. The artificial construction with white sand in combination with crystal clear water creates a unique blue colour. This quiet beach in the southwest of Gran Canaria has a bay with calm waters and no waves, its soft white and golden sands invite us to relax both adults and children, being a very nice place to enjoy the sun and the sea.

Then we will visit the ethnographic center Faro de Maspalomas, located in the south of the island, more exactly at the end of Maspalomas Beach. Its construction was considered of the first order. It constitutes the civil building of major historical and monumental importance from Telde to the south of the island. It has gone from guiding and helping ships sail the Atlantic to becoming the most emblematic symbol of Gran Canaria. This lighthouse, which has 130 years of history, has become a museum that will guide residents and tourists in their passage through the island.

Get to know the most photographed corners of the southwest of Gran Canaria and enjoy the incredible landscapes of the island.
