¿What to expect?
A coach will pick you up at the pick-up point closest to your hotel in Lanzarote and take you to Puerto de Órzola, a town in the north of the island, where you will board a regular ferry that will take you to the island of La Graciosa. The journey takes approximately 25 minutes.
La Graciosa is probably one of the few places in Europe where there are still no tarmac roads. It is the most unknown and the most serene of the Canary Islands.
La Graciosa is not a place for mass tourism, it is an ideal island where you can literally forget about shoes. As far as clothing is concerned, a swimming costume is a must. It is essential to bring high-protection sun cream and a sun visor, as when you leave Caleta del Sebo, it will not be easy to find shade.
From the island of La Graciosa, you can go on excursions to the islets that belong to the Marine Reserve and admire the beautiful landscape that is still intact. These excursions usually stop at one of the fabulous beaches where you can marvel at the underwater scenery, slide down fun slides or go for a ride on a giant banana boat.
The excursions usually include lunch, which can be an energetic and succulent paella accompanied by a refreshing sangria or a typical dish of the island. These excursions will undoubtedly offer us the possibility of seeing other panoramic views of the less accessible islets that are absolutely amazing.
Another magnificent alternative for getting to know La Graciosa and its exotic landscapes is to get on a bicycle. There are trails that will take you to the most special corners of this tiny geography, trails that must be followed without deviating from their route to avoid eroding or damaging the terrain.
There are establishments in Caleta de Sebo where you can hire them, as well as help you if you suffer a puncture or breakdown. Naturally, the roughness of the terrain means that the bike must be equipped to ride over hostile terrain, as there are no tracks to smooth out our route.
